LFL’s 40 mm soft realistic artificial turf is the premium garden build: a C + S + W blended yarn at 12,000 Dtex and 16,800 tufts/m², supplied in 15 ft (4.57 m) rolls. It is specified where the lawn is the centrepiece of a garden and the look has to hold up close.
Three yarn shapes in one pile
Most landscape turf uses one yarn shape. This build blends three: C for softness and recovery, S for body and a crisper edge, and W (wavy) to break up the surface and stop it reading as a flat sheet of green. The mix is what gives the lawn depth at close range, which is the test a premium garden is judged by — a single-shape pile looks convincing from the kitchen window and synthetic from the patio.

The yarn is heavy for a landscape carpet, and it sits at 16,800 tufts/m² — a dense build that keeps the pile standing in the areas that get walked most. The 15 ft roll width means a large garden can be laid in a small number of pieces, so the seams are few and the finish is clean.

Laying it well
A premium lawn is judged by its edges and its seams. Use a flat, well-compacted base, keep the pile direction consistent, cut the seams tight and glue them properly, and brush the surface up in two directions at the end so the mixed yarn stands evenly.

What does C+S+W yarn mean?

Is 40 mm too tall for a garden?

Why only 15 ft rolls?
Because the build is aimed at large, high-end gardens where the wide roll means fewer seams. Narrower widths can be produced on request.
Does it need infill?
No. It is a landscape carpet, laid unfilled. Infill belongs on sports surfaces, where the sand sets ball pace.
