Description
45mm Football Artificial Grass for Training Pitches and Academies
45mm is the training-ground height. A lower pile plays faster and needs less infill, which brings the cost per square metre down — and on a training pitch that is used every day by squads and academies, that matters more than tournament-grade appearance. This build runs 8,820–12,600 tufts/m² with 5,800–13,000 Dtex S-shape yarn, so you can specify a lighter or denser surface inside the same product family.

Typical installations are training pitches next to a main stadium, youth academy fields, school and community grounds, and 5-a-side to 7-a-side conversions. The perforated PP + net + SBR backing drains quickly, and the S-shape fibre resists flattening in the goalmouth and along the touchline where traffic concentrates.
Best for
- Training pitches and academy grounds attached to clubs
- Community and municipal facilities where budget per pitch is the constraint
- School and college fields used across the week
- 5-a-side and 7-a-side conversions from natural grass

Frequently asked questions
Is 45mm too short for a match pitch?
45mm is normal for training and community pitches. Competition pitches are more often specified at 50–60mm with a full infill system — see our 50mm football range.
Can two training pitches be supplied at different densities?
Yes. Because this build runs across a density window, you can order a lighter surface for a warm-up area and a denser one for the main training pitch in matching colour.
